    The word aloof means apart or at a distance, especially in feeling or interest. It can be used in a sentence as an adverb as follow: They always stood aloof from their classmates.

    The word aloof is also an adjective which means reserved or reticent; indifferent; disinterested. It can be use din a sentence in the following way: because of his shyness, he has the reputation of being aloof. Some of the synonyms of the word aloof are - detached, cool, distant, snobbish, disdainful and haughty.

      I thought that aloof meant that someone was really laid back and doesn't get too excited about stuff but doesn't get too angry about stuff too.That they dont really care about a lot of stuff.
