    Dogs should not have runny nose. If your dog is having only runny nose without any other signs of illness then its OK. He will be self treated within few days. You should observe following other signs of illness and if present then visit to vet is necessary.

       1. Sneezing
       2.  Bloody nose
       3.  Shortness of breath
       4.  Panting

    Usually, nasal discharge in dogs can be due to

       1. Upper respiratory tract infection due to bacteria or virus
       2. Sinus problems
       3. Rhinitis
       4. Allergy
       5. Foreign material in nose
       6. Nasal tumors
       7.  Nasal mites

    So, if your dog is having only runny nose with other signs of illness then take him to vet.
