First of George Jones is still alive. George Glen Jones born on September 12th, 1931 is a well known American country music performer, famous for his typical voice.
He is said to be "the greatest living country singer" and at times is addresses as the "the Rolls-Royce of country singer". Jones was born in Saratoga, Texas and he was brought up in the settlements north of Beaumont near the Big Thicket. He served in the marines till the age of 24, and later developed his talent as a country singer. Jones launched his career by singing for a local radio station. In the year 1954 he recorded is first single known as "No Money in This Deal".
In the year 1955 he achieved his first top 10 hit, with the track "Why, Baby, Why."
