What Can I Do To Get My Friend Off Of His Addiction With Online Gaming?

My best friend is an addicted to an online game called second life. I have tried it and it is a good game, but, when I ask him to come over or to go to the beach, he says he doesn't feel like it. I know its because he wants to play this game and it makes me feel really empty that a best friend would give up the real deal for the virtual world. I've even told him that id rather see him for real and that online friends aren't really friends you know well. Help Me.

I have heard of second life also of how addictive it has become it is fine for people to enjoy games but not to the point where it takes over real life ,if I were you ,I would go over to his house and explain how your feeling and that if he chooses to continue like this then you will have no choice but to make new friends who value their time with you,hold tight and I suspect maybe not at first but at some point he will be back outside looking for you just try to leave things on a good note for now,positive

That's really good info. Thanks. But finding new friends may be hard for me because this person is my best friend and i have known him for 6 years. I guess that means I should have no problem talking to him. Thank you.

I know this sounds real mean, but break the puter, and he will have to find something else to do, or at least threaten to break it, and have a heart to heart with him. Make sure that you are telling him the full amount of your emotions, and your concern. Make him listen.
