How Do Hurricanes Occur?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Hurricanes occur over warm oceans in the tropics where the water is 80 or more degrees
The sun heats the water evaporating it and causes it's power to make it's revolutions.
Hurricanes are fueled by a different heat mechanism than other cyclonic windstorms such as nor'easter, European windstorms, and polar lows- making them called "warm core" storm systems
