What's The True Difference In The Duties Of A Sheriff And A Police Officer?

Answer Question

The only difference really is in the territory that they cover.  Sheriffs, State Police, and city cops are all the same.  They all are parts of law enforcement.  State Police cover parts of the state, county sheriffs cover counties, and city cops cover cities.  There is no other difference.  Well, besides the uniforms that they wear and the cars that they drive.
