ADHD is Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. It is also referred as ADD. It is a neurological disorder. This disorder is present in one right from childhood , with noticeable symptoms such as poor impulse control, forgetfulness, distractibility and hyperactivity. This is a chronic syndrome for which no medical attention can be received. Every year round 3 - 5% of the population is affected, this includes children as well as adults. Most of this disorder is affected by children, who later hold the mayhem as adults. Some of the treatment for this disorder are psychotherapy, medication and other techniques.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR) states that this developmental mayhem is present among children below the age of seven, and subsequetly show unsuitable levels of hyperactive and agitated impulsive behavior.

ADD actually stands for Attention Deficit Disorder and is slightly different to ADHD as the hyper activity element is missing. this means the child or adult has less impulsive behaviour and is less prone to behavioural difficulties.
