Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    Quite often, "a" is used to stand for some constant. Here are a couple of instances
      ax + by = c
      ax^2 + bx + c = 0
    Sometimes, "a" is the variable, as in
      a^2 + b^2 = c^2
      Sin[A] = a/c
    "A" is often the letter grade a math student would like to receive.
    What "a" is equal to depends on where you find it.
