How Much Money Does An Archaeologists Earn In UK?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Currently, archaeology has become a profession and the government is also funding money for its proper development.

In UK the salary of a full time archaeologist is £17,079 which is a bit less compared to the salaries of an engineer or an architect. Over all the salary for an archaeologist is not good and lucrative compared to the enormous amount painstaking work. The archaeological inspectors earn the most, at £27,586 whereas the excavators and the site assistants earn £10,094.

Sometimes they work on a contractual basis for 10 months but then again the payment is not very lucrative. In England, The highest paid archaeologists earn over £30,000 whereas the inspectors earn £50,000. In the field of archaeology, people come into because they truly want to do the work, rather than making money.
