What Is Montessori?

Montessori basically is both methodology as well as an educational philosophy. It was initially developed around the 1900s by Dr Maria Montessori as a method to educate underprivileged children in her home land Italy.

A number of Montessori schools are preschool as well as elementary school in level, though there were a few Montessori programs which start with infants and end by 12th Grade. The Montessori philosophy is based on the philosophy that children develop and think in a much different manner than adults.
