What Is The Name Of The Operation That Is Used To Remove Adenoids?
Answers
The operation used to remove the adenoids is termed as 'Adenoidectomy'. Adenoids are a cluster of spongy tissue which protects children from falling sick. Some doctors recommend removing the adenoids as they have the belief that the adenoids are pretty much useless once a kid reaches the age of 3 years. But in any case the adenoids shrink after the age of 5.
During the operation, kids are given a special medicine which makes them feel sleepy and they don't feel any pain during the operation. The removal of adenoids does not affect the kids in anyway. Nothing happens after removing the adenoids apart from the fact that after the surgery the child will have a sore throat and will require eating soft foods for a while.
