How Is Iced Wine Taken?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Ice wines can be taken when the wine is relatively young (as opposed to almost all other varieties) even though the same matures with time. They are best served in a comparatively bigger wine glass. Under no circumstances should it be given in liqueur glasses. The predominant reason for the same being that the snout of the wine is required to be released to justly derive the pleasure.

The ideal serving temperature hovers around 12 degrees centigrade. This is quite an interesting factor as it is produced out of grapes that are hand picked when the ambient temperature drops below minus 10 degrees centigrade. Desserts are the finest accompaniments for ice wines. The drink is also had with fresh fruits. This is because the wine tastes sweet like tropical fruits at the first sip but eventually gives a lingering taste of more acidic citrus fruits.
