Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is situated in the Southern Caribbean, Northeast of the South American nation of Venezuela and South of Grenada in the Lesser Antilles.

Trinidad is quiet large in size and the population here is quiet high, where as Tobago is much smaller in size. Around seven thousand years ago the country was occupied by Amerindians, who were of South American origin. During the 14th century the country was inhabited by Arawakan and Cariban speaking people.

The country has a history of slavery, which has left this place with a mixed breed of African, Indian, European, Middle Eastern and Chinese people here. All these people from various countries have left behind some part of their culture. Trinidad and Tobago got independence in the year 1962 and was declared a nation in 1976.
