A good lawyer is the one to ask that question to.

If it was recent you must contact or have your attorney contact the judge who handled the case. Often, especially in a plea bargain and if you have extenuating circumstances like a child you must support then
you can have the judge shorten the period of time before expungement. If it was more then 10 years ago contact your local
Bar Association and ask for an attorney that handles expungments.
No matter the cost it will be worth it to get a decent job and regain your self-esteem. Not all jobs do background checks.
You may also consider starting your own business or moving to a relatively unpopulated area of the country where your skills are in demand. Background checks are most common in cities and in jobs working with children, transportation or for the government.

Jobs in sales may pay quite well and often do not require background checks. Also, the smaller the Co., the less likely they will
do a background check. Good luck!

I was convicted of a Federal Felony, I can't get a real job, because everybody does a background check nowadays, the feds keeps screwing me even after you pay the price and time, what a great country.
