Crows can be quite difficult and scary to try and get rid of. They are intelligent birds that are wily and fearless. They eat just about anything so most farmers and other individuals growing plants and crops want to deter them from their ground. Some suggest that waiting for one of the crows to be killed by another animal will encourage the mob to move along. This is not an effective way to get rid of the birds as many crows can occupy a favourite roost for centuries. It is not legal to hunt crows but there are a number of ways that you can try to deter the crow populations on your ground.

Noise is one of the simplest deterrents of crows. Use either a bird repellent machine or make loud frequent noises with firecrackers or pots and pans. If you have a dog, preferably one that loves to chance dogs, then their loud barks can be a good way to scare the birds. Being clever animals, however, crows will learn to go for food sources or nesting areas when the dog is asleep or not looking. Often seen as a cliché, making a scarecrow is actually a very good crow deterrent. An alternative to the scarecrow is an owl decoy placed in treetops or the edge of a roof. Some people choose to use large rubber snakes to scare off crows. Eventually the crows will learn that the decoy or scarecrow isn’t real. To delay this realisation you can try moving the deterrent around or rotate the different types. This may provide further protection for your crops as it will trick the crows for a slightly longer time. Crows do not like the glare from shiny objects, so a string of pie tins, CDs or mirrors can stop the birds from landing nearby.

Instead of clapping my hands all day or squirting a water gun at the crows I went to a website a friend told me about. I bought a cd called Crow be Gone from this website and ever since then I have had no CROWS. Something so easy yet no one else ever thought of it. Here is the website www.geocities.com/crowbegone

I got tired of bang stuff to make noise to scare of the crows. Fake owls didn't work neither did the fake snakes. The dead crow I hung from the tree attracted ants now I have an ant problem. I'm going to try crow be gone cd I read so much about on the Internet and with a money back guarantee why not. I wish I could use a 12 gauge shotgun for a few days.

Contrary to what Matthew Crist said, hunting crows IS legal in every state except Hawaii. Whether it is a viable solution for your problem is another matter.

I tried the crow away cd it's a cheap CD with a paper label looks like it's a knock off of the Crow be Gone CD.
I live in Australia and we have a bad crow infestation here and these bloody crows keep me from having any peace. It's amazing how the Crow be Gone CD was so successful at removing my crow problems. I now have both CD's and guess what? The crow away website people even took some of the sound files from the Crow be Gone CD. Yet their CD didn't work at all. That crow away site is not to be trusted. It's obvious to me that they stole the sounds from Crow be Gone. We have informed the people at Crow be Gone of the theft of their material.

I'm just wondering? Do you put on a headset and listen to it so you don't hear the crows? What's worse...listening to a Crows be gone CD at 430 am or the crows themselves?

Crows can be considered as one of the most irritating bird ever, as they are loud and obnoxious they are large passerine birds that come under the genus of Corvus. The common raven is also included in this genus.

If a crow is sitting in your balcony, or front porch you can get rid of him by clapping your hands, trying to scare him. If the crow is creating a nuisance of himself in your garden, you can attack him or squirt him with water from the hose of your garden. You can also throw small rocks or stones at them to scare them away…but see to it that you don't hurt them. If all else fails you can contact the wildlife technology company and they can help you with your problems.
