The First Continental Congress meeting took place in 1774 in the state of Philadelphia. The main purpose of the meeting was to solve problems of the colonists with King George who was enraged at the Boston Tea Party plan. Out of the thirteen British colonies, twelve had their representatives in the meeting of the First Continental Congress.
The only state, which did not participate in the meeting was Georgia nevertheless it pledged to follow any and every decision formulated in the meeting of the First Continental Congress. All of the colonies had sent the best of their representatives in the meeting that included names like Sam Adams (who made the Committee of Correspondence and also was responsible for executing the plan of the Boston Tea Party) and John Adams (who was one of the future presidents of the United States), Patrick Henry and George Washington, both of whom representing Virginia.
