I Am Concerned About A Child I Think Has Autism. He Doesn't Look At Me And He Hits His Hands Together, Runs On His Toes, And Doesn't Speak. He Does Smile And Will Hug His Mother, But Doesn't Initiate Interaction With Peers. He Was Taking Seizure Medication For A Year And Never Had But One Seizure In His Life And That Was At 5 Weeks Old. Could The Medication Have Caused His Delays? Help Me , I Have Not Seen A Little Boy Act This Differently In A Long Time.

A child with Autism will have some of these behaviours. But the mother needs to ask the child's doctor about the possibility of any Autistic behavior. She would have to want to get help for the child. No one can do anything but the parents. If you need to understand Autism and the other possibilities that could explain the child's behavior there is a wealth of information on-line about the Autistic spectrum. Or other problems that this child could have that cause Seizures.
