This happened to me before we ended up dating but it was weird for some reason i got to scared to talk to him and he didn't come to me because he was shy so we went out for 5 days before i got the courage to call him and when i did call him he told me there was no connection and dumped me. What you need to do is tell him you like him YOURSELF then let it simmer than if he does come to you ask him if he wants to do something. Like hangout. You got to be confident and don't let the whole talking thing get in the way because when you really think about it he can be your quiet side. And the quiet people seem to be way more caring and less vulnerable to cheat on you.

Isn't that just the funniest thing? You are a prodigious talker, and then when you have an important thing to say....you can not find the words. This sounds like a good match. Usually the quiet ones, love a talker, since they find it hard to start or carry conversations, themselves. I would take friendly's advice, and keep it casual, like she said. He may be a little shy, so you don't want him to feel pressured. Get a small group of people together to do something recreational, , and ask him along. Or mention that there is a movie that you would like to see [pick one that you think he would be interested in] and ask him if he would like to go to see that movie. I hope things work out for you, either way, I am sure he will be flattered that you asked him.

If you are good friends, then it'll be easy for you.
make it friendly type... Like say "so what you doing this friday?" and when he answer back, make up a reason like "i'm kinda alone this friday... So i was guessing if we both could go somewhere together?"
