“New Moon” will be the next instalment in the “Twilight” film series and is due for release in November 2009. The film has a different director, but all the cast from the first instalment have returned. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer.
“New Moon” will explore protagonist Bella Swan's relationship with Edward Cullen, who is a vampire. It will follow on from the events of the first film. Bella is distraught when Edward leaves and she begins to build up her friendship with a werewolf named Jacob Black.
There are plans to adapt Stephenie Meyer's third novel in the series to film. The third instalment will be entitled “Eclipse” and is scheduled for release in summer 2010. The film will once again have a different director.
