What Country Has The Rainiest Spot?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

In Hawaii, there is a volcano called Mount Wai’ale’ale in the local language but called Waialeale in English. The summit of this volcanic mountain is said to be the rainiest place on earth. It receives an average rainfall of 460 inches for the past so many years. Iin 1982, it received rainfall of 683 inches which is a record. Rainfall occurs throughout the year. A spot called Mawsynram, Meghalaya, India receives almost 470 inches of rainfall each year which is more than Waialeale but still is not considered to be the rainiest place because the rainfall occurs mostly in monsoon, not throughout the year.
