How Did Mario Testino Start Fashion Photography?

Mario Testino's career in fashion photography began by selling portfolios inclusive of hair and make up to aspiring models. Testino was born in 1954 in Lima, Peru. He is a prominent fashion photographer. He was a student at the Universidad Del Pacifico where he studied economics. Later he studied law and international relations at the University Catolica and the University of San Diego respectively. He shifted to London in 1976 and then began to work as a photographer. He soon rose to the top and is one of London's most prominent fashion photographers. Although he stills operates primarily in London he travels all over the world. He has worked for the Italian, British, French and American Vogue in addition to Vanity Fair and L'uomo Vogue.

He has been employed on several occasions by royalty to photograph them including Prince Harry and the Jordanian Queen Rania. He also worked fro Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent and Calvin Klein to name a few.

His photos are always distinguished for their beautiful angles, creativity and bold vivid imagery.
