Yes you can, but you will need to prime them first. With a primer made especially for laminate.
Such as Zinsser123.
Be sure to read the directions before apply the paint. There is a curing time for the primer once you have applied it.

Tamarind is correct. I tried to do my old cabinets like that and didnt allow the primer time to dry and the colors were completely off.
