In more modern times; Joseph Niépce (Born: March 7th 1765) is one of the earliest users of photography, though his camera took about 8 hours of exposure. Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre (Born: November 18th 1787) created the first commercially viable method of photography. Or there's Alexander Wolcott (Born 1804) who received the first American Patent on a camera.
