A Conservative MP Has Recently Suggested That England Should Have A National Holiday For St. Georges Day. Is This A Good Idea?

I do think that this is a nice idea. I also think there should be a national holiday and celebration here in Wales for St. David's Day too.
The MP suggested that the English tend to understate the achievements and traditions of the English and it would be a good thing to restore some national pride in the nicest possible way.
The Irish are very proud of St. Patrick's Day; The Scots have St. Andrew and the Welsh celebrate St. David so why not let England do the same?
You don't have to be English to join in the fun and it's harmless. There isn't a hidden nationalistic agenda as any celebrations would include everyone.
People argue that it's too near May Day and that we have too many Bank Holidays.
However I do agree that the English seem to miss out when the rest of us have national pride in our 'days' so why not?
