| This person changed his address to come to my apartment, so he receives mail there. I never gave him permission to do that. He will not pay his half of rent, electric, cable and he is not on the lease because he has an eviction in his name and is unable to get an apartment in his name. The landlord is aware that he stays there, she didn't care as long as the rent is paid on time. Last month he gave me rent late causing a late fee with the office! Now he refuses to pay his half. |

You need to evict him. Check with your state on the official laws, but usually a letter from you certified and signed by a notary will do the case. You have to give him written notice and if he is not on the lease and has no written agreement with you all you have to do is set a date that he is expected to be out by. If he still refuses then you can file an eviction through the courts. But most of the time a written notice from the evictor works without all the court costs. Just keep a copy of the letter and the receipt from certified mail. This is proof that he received the written notice of eviction.
