When To Seek Medical Advice For Shingles?

Answer Question

It is advisable by doctors to get a medical treatment or consultation done as soon as one of the symptoms of shingles is developed by any patient. General signs of shingles include a initial rash which is later followed by a shooting pain, itching, irritation and redness of the skin. Before the disease can cover up the whole body, it is better to go to a doctor for a treatment.

If the rash develops near a person's eyes, it can be really dangerous, as it can result in an infection in the cornea and ultimately can cause a person to become blind. Eyes are one of the most sensitive areas of the body, so if a person develops even one rash near it, he should immediately go to a doctor to prevent blindness.

Immediately contact your doctor even if you develop the rash on one part of the body, and get an anti viral medication treatment, which will effect only if it is treated at an early stage. If the rash appears on the nasal area or the facial parts, that is also dangerous.

The earlier you contact your doctor, the better it is going to be for you, as the anti viral will effect much faster if shingles is caught at an early stage. Some people think it is only a small rash, but if fever is also accompanied by the rash then you should rush to the doctor.
