Yellowstone National park is located in the North West United States. It is located in the states of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. Most of the park is located within the state of Wyoming, nearly ninety six percent; three percent of the park lies within Montana and just one percent is in the sate of Idaho.
The park is located on the Yellowstone Plateau at an altitude of around two thousand four hundred meters above sea level. The plateau has the middle rocky mountains running through it. It is visited annually by more than two and a half million visitors. Winter visitors are mostly part of guided tours that use snowmobiles and snow coaches. Other activities for visitors include camping, hiking, fishing, sightseeing and boating. The park also features over sixty different species of mammals including grizzly bears, the grey wolf and the lynx.
