With in 24 hours I noticed my 10-year old Maltese only wrinkled when he urinated and his belly is bloated . He has not ate in 24hrs only drank a little bit of water. What could be the cause of this and what symptoms are there with kidney stones or a blockage?

Stones are formed due to high concentration of mineral salts in the urine. The most common symptoms of kidney stones in animals are blood in the urine and painful urination. Dogs and cats when are a subject to kidney stones tend to urinate frequently though the quantity of the waste is small. The animals are restless between the urination process.
