In an ecosystem, the eating relationship between different living organisms or species is described by food chain. The organisms which produce food for consumers or other living organisms, are called producers. They are present at the top of the food chain. Producers produce food during the process of photosynthesis. In this process, carbon dioxide and water are combined in the presence of sunlight to form glucose or complex molecules. Producers get their energy from sun and soil. Moreover, oxygen is produced as a by-product of photosynthesis.
