    Lions club International is the largest service club in the world with more than 1.39 million members in as many as 200 countries around the globe The Lions Club International boasts of a roaring strength of 45,000 clubs.

    Lions club was founded in Texas, USA by Melvin Jones in the year 1917. Lions Club achieved 'international' status on 12th March 1920 when the first club was set up outside USA, In Ontario, Canada. The international headquarters of Lions Club is in Oak Brook, Illinois. The membership to the Lions Club is by invitation only. The attendance to Lions Club meetings is held either fortnightly or monthly. The funds donated by the general public are used for charity, while a certain part of the funds is kept separate for the administration costs of the Club.

      The lions club help blind people and also adults on their state insurance (welfare)that cant afford eye glasses the lions club will pay for your appointment and a pair of glasses.
