What Is The Fable Of The Crow And The Snake?

A pair of crows had found a delightful home near a river, where they planned to start a family. However, before they could settle in, a poisonous snake joined them and terrorised them, so that they couldn't enjoy their home or feel safe in it. It even stole their first egg. Mr Crow wanted to leave, but his wife had a better idea. When the prince of that country stopped at the river for a swim, Mrs Crow stole a bracelet from his heap of clothing and dropped it at the mouth of the hole where the snake lived. The prince and all his companions searched high and low for the bracelet. Finally they saw it shining in the snake's hole; and thinking the snake had stolen the bracelet, they killed him. The two crows were left to bring up their family in peace, and Mrs Crow immediately laid another egg.
