Why Do Kittens Eat Cat Litter?

    Think it's because it's a new thing to them....   They may be trying to smell it....      All my babies have done it!!!!!

      My kittens are 4 weeks old and i have tried with kitten food but they look at it but wont eat it yet. They will go in the litter tray and eat the litter. WHen will they start eating.

      You can try to wet down the dry kitten food with warm water. They need to be getting food and water intake. They usually are not weaned from their mother until 6 weeks, but if they are, you are now their "mother". You can also try to use kitten formula and bottle feed them.

      Think ofit this way. My little sister used to eat sand at the beach. I think they are just curious want to see what it is.
      Sometimes some kittens take longer than others to get the hang of it. Leave them a lone. I would never get rid of a kitten till they where 8 weeks old even if they could eat food on there own they need there mothers milk.
      I would advise waitng but if all else fails, try putting some moist baby kitten food on yiur finger and see if they will lick it off.
