Will Tylenol With Codeine Affect Opiate Receptors? The Way Vicodin Does?

Answer Question

Yes it will. The only difference between Vicodin and Tylenol is that Vicodin has ibuprofen and codeine in it and Tylenol has acetaminophen; so it will affect opiate receptors the same way.

Vicodin is hydrocodone (a semi-synthetic version of codeine made from codeine and thebaine and is more in line with the potency of morphine than codeine) and tylenol (acetaminophen). Vicoprofen contains hydrocodone and ibuprofen. Codeine is a natural opiate, hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opiate, and other drugs like Darvocet (dextropropoxyphene and tylenol) and methadone are fully synthetic opioids and will all trigger opiate receptors albeit to varying degrees of strength.
