Clip  off some small new growth dip the clipped end in root tone which contains growth hormones and can be purchased at a wal-mart or the like.   then plant it in soil and make sure you keep it watered.  it may appear to die but give it a month or so as it will grow.  good luck.

I live in Northern Nevada and our soil is awful at best. I have tried Root Hormone and everything else. What actually worked for me is taking the start and trimming off all the small leaves and starter branches. I get potting soil, peat moss, a little bit of manure and mix it with about half of your planter with the soil you will eventually plant it in from your yard. Stick your starter in and water at least once a day. Keep it outside so it climatizes. It takes a few weeks before you start seeing buds of new leaves but I started with nothing and now I have many willows, pines, lilacs and Siberian pea bushes. Good luck. :)
