I am trying to go over a tattoo but am having trouble with getting the trace to stick to my skin to follow it.

All i can think of is to try henna.  that will stain your skin for awhile (i plan on doing this summer so i know whether or not i want a butterfly tattoo on my front shoulder).  but if you already have a tattoo and are trying to go over and stay there permanently, i don't know what to use.  i think the only thing you can do is get it freshened up again at another parlor.
    lots of luck.

at a parlor it will cost about $150-200 to go over it because it is a rabbit and the tattoo i want to go over it is a cross with a rose and i want my husbands name in it. my husband has the tattoo machines and everything we need to do it but i cant get the trace to stick.

what if you did in in henna and then went over the henna lines with a tattoo or maybe use permanent marker and then trace over that. nail polish remover should take it off when you're done, if not it will come of in a few days. i would try using commoner stuff than the super expensive ones. on miami ink Ami usually uses normal marker to drawl it on skin and it last long enough (as long as it doesn't get smired) to finish. i would try this, take the trace and go over it on tracing paper and then place the paper on your skin and then go over it with a dry erase or maybe permanent marker and make sure it leaks through the paper. if that doesn't work, I'm really sorry but that's all i can think of. henna will stain your skin but if you bleed while he tracing i don't know how if it can harm you (ask your husband, he might know). i do know though to beware of the color red because a lot of people are allergic to it (not sure why) and it can get infected. GOOD LUCK!!!

The tracings WILL stick if you use deodorant-the best kind is High Endurance-made by Old Spice.  the gel is way better than the other white powdery kind.  i have several tattoos, and that has worked every time
