How Many Calories A Day Should I Be Feeding My 6 Month Old? The Doctor Says She Is Overweight.

My daughter only eats four to five bottles a day of formula, of 5oz each, and 2 tablespoons of rice cereal with half a jar of 1st fruit, she sleeps through the night, and is a very happy baby, but weighs 20 lbs, and is 24 inch tall, under tall and over weight, and the dotor wants me to take away one feeding, because the baby is over the 90 % for her weight, but only the 20% for height!!!???

My 3rd baby weighed 18 pounds at 3 months and the only thing he had was breast milk at the time.  He is now 4 and weighs 31 pounds.  I think I would put 4 oz of formula with 1 ounce of water with one feeding and see if that makes a difference and put the child in a walker and encourage her to play.  But it doesn't sound like you are over feeding her.  Good luck!! And enjoy her she will grow up way to fast.  Hope this helps!!

This is the growing age for a child, so the average weight for a 6 month old should be between 450 -600 grams, and increase in length should be 2 inches in this period. According to surveys, your baby is really overweight and you should control her diet.
