How Can I Upgrade From Windows Xp Home Edition To Windows Xp Prof?

I want to upgrade an existing computer that has windows xp home edition to windows xp pro, as that's what's on my network computers. Is there a free download and can I upgrade without backing up my entire c drive?

    First you need to ask your self if you really need to upgrade the system, are there any features that are available only on the XP Pro edition that you need, if you don't need it, it is recommended to stay with the XP Home edition, if you do need the PRO edition, the only known way that I know of is to buy the XP PRO edition, and then you can choose 1 of 2 options
    1) upgrade the installation, and you'll probably will have to backup the important info on your drive
    2) you'll have firs to backup you important info that is on the Hard drive
    and then to perform a clean installation
