It is common for breast to become extremely painful if you have ended breastfeeding. They continue to fill becoming engorged. The best home remedy and what they suggest in hospitals is to steam or boil cabbage leaves. Don't boil them down to mush unless you want to soak a cloth in the mush. I suggest pulling the leaves while they are still somewhat firm. Place on your breasts (using cloths) this will aid in ceasing the production of milk and alleviate the pain fairly quickly. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU PERMANENTLY INTEND TO STOP BREAST FEEDING!
