    Britain in Bloom is the name of a horticulture contest that takes place in England. It was inaugurated in the year 1963. Since the year 2002, it has been planned by the Royal Horticultural Society. at present its sponsor is B&Q.

    The participants enter by way of settlements, and the victor is that settlement which has best decorated itself with the help of plants and flowers, according to the judges. There are various settlements that are classified under different categories depending on their size. The contest covers all of the United Kingdom, as well as the Channel Islands and the isle of Man.

    Harrogate is a large township located in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. This town was the winner of the Britain in Bloom competition under the grouping of 'Large Town' in the year 2003. it was also the winner of the European Entente Florale contest in the year 2004.
