If your landlord is telling your visitors to leave, check your contract and look at that section: Visitor.
Sometimes, actually most of the time, it is written on the contract how many people can stay at the apartment, and how long can they stay - usually not over 3 days. The third day is the day they are living.
This is because of security purposes, I guess the apartment manager has to submit and be accountable for their renters just in case fire or other calamities happen. This is also for the safety of the building - if fire broke in your apartment and your visitor caused it, you are the one to answer for it.
It's not really big deal - but they can harm you or file a complaint against your practice of the apartment that you signed in or lease to use. Remember, even though you and the your family are the only people who live there, it is still only borrowed piece of property - I hope this help a bit.
