When Was Donna Karen Born?

Donna Karen was born Donna Faske, on October 2, 1948 in New York's Forest Hills. She spent most of her youth in Hewlett, Long Island along with her mother, a model and her step-father, a tailor. She went on to graduate from Hewlett High School in the year 1966 and later studied at for two years Parson's School of Design. She left in order to work for Anne Klein and ultimately headed the Anne Klein design-team. She stayed the head until the year 1984 when she unveiled the Essentials line.

She got married to Mark Karan sometime in the early 1970s. Together they had a daughter named Gabby. She later left her husband and married an artist sculptor Stephan Weiss in the year 1983. After a prolonged illness, in the year 2001 Weiss died of lung cancer.
Donna is now a renowned American fashion designer and her first Donna Karan women's collection went on display in the year 1985.
