Can You Tell Me About California State Prison Inmate Information?

I was told that some inmates can work off some of their time. A person that has a 3 year term at 85% in CA would be able to reduce that 85% by 25% by working inside the prisons. Is this true as the counselors don't want to answer my questions. How can I get them to address this? Thank you.
