What Does A Fish Symbolise?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It was used by early Christians as a secret symbol because the Greek word for fish (Ichthys) was used as an acronym to sum up Christian teaching. Jesus, Christ (King), Gods, Son, Savour.Jesus talked of "the sign of Jonah" - as him being dead for three days (as Jonah was in the belly of the fish) and then will rise from the dead, using the fish to symbolize his tomb. There is a contestation of the fish Pisces (which must symbolize something). Some ancient religions worship them I think one of the Hindu Gods was supposed to reincarnated as a fish in one of the flood myths that must symbols something.hope that give somewhere to to begin your research
