My DVD Will Not Play On My Home DVD Players But Will On My Computer Why?
Someone burned a dvd set for me and disc 1 won't play on my DVD players with my TV but it will play on my computer. The other discs work.

Its possible that the first disk was burnt on a different type of disk that your computer can handle but your DVD player cannot. If possible, try playing the suspect disk in other DVD players as well and see what it plays on and what it doesn't.

It may be problem in dvd but as you told it is operating perfectly on your computer than it may be the problem of dvd reader of your dvd. I think you should take some professional services to make it work.

The codec and/or format used for the DVD is not a standard format. You can re-rip and re-encode the DVD to make it play on a standard DVD player. The software used to do this depends on the operating system you are using. The hardest piece to find is the part that transcodes (re-encodes) the video into DVD format. I suggest DeVeDe, which works well under Ubuntu Linux and recently Windows.
A google search for DVD ripping software turns up DVDx, or you can often rip video by simply copying the .VOB file from the DVD onto your computer and renaming it to .MPG if it isn't protected video. To burn a DVD, use whatever you normally do, like Roxio or Brasero, or search for free ISO burning software on the internet.
In case you were wondering, all of this is easier under Linux than it is Windows, and free too.
