What Is The Best Explanation For A Bad Dept?

Answer Question

By Bad Dept. I'm guessing you mean that the group doesn't work efficiently and probably do not get the job done and done well. I'm sorry but this really does all go back to management of that department. Seriously point fingers at him/her. I say this from lots of experience. When I have a boss who could care less that doesn't make me think much about the job either. However, if i have a boss who stimulates and pushes me to do better and to have goals and pride in my work then I become a better work. Of course work ethics very with each person and you might have a bad apple but it's the managers job to give him/her the boot and find someone who cares about their work. If you don't do a good job it looks poorly on you. Another thing, I see this alot too, some managers have no experience in the work that their actual department does. IE someone just there to supervise. How can I trust my own boss if he doesn't have a clue? I mean how can I respect him if I know more than he does? Then you get those nice managers who are always like, "come on guys 110%" which is good but they don't have a backbone. If i were in a department with 3 or 4 people and someone is pulling their weight and my boss is just to nice of a guy to do something about it I loose respect and start to think that maybe he doesn't value the hard work I do for him. If my coworker can keep her job and constantly slack then why can't I right? You need to take all these things in consideration.
