Play.com is an online shopping website similar to Amazon. The site sells DVDs, games, electronic items, books, PCs, gadgets and mobiles.
In order to use the site, visitors must have an account. Visitors can search for products either by clicking on the tabs on the main page, or by clicking on a section from the drop down list in the 'Search' section.
Like with Amazon, the site has more than one store, meaning that it will ship to areas outside the UK. There is a helpdesk section which visitors can use if they have any problems with purchases etc.
The site offers free delivery with everything and often holds competitions in which users can win cinema tickets etc.
Visitors are able to pre-order items that have not yet been released, and there is a marketplace section where users can sell their own items and get rated by other users, much like Amazon Marketplace.
