Rather than going directly to any financial organisation - because as you say, it would be difficult to find an honest one in your situation - if I were you, I would approach the Student Services in the college or uni where you are hoping to study. If you tell them honestly about your problem, they may well be able to suggest where you can apply for a loan, or there may be some form of government assistance you are eligible for.
