Is Friction Supporting Or Opposing The Motion Of Running, Car Racing, Horse Racing ?

Answer should be like this- Like for Another sport such as Ice Skating -Friction though it is considered very less on ice , it does slow the skater down when there are bumps and skate marks present on the ice over time. Friction is in the opposite direction of movement of the skates, as it attempts to slow the skater down The answer should be for each sport mentioned above in the question.

    The correct answer to your question is both.

    Friction both supports and opposes every one of those sports.

    For running, you need friction under the sole of your foot.  On the other hand, the friction of the molecules in the air moving past your body is providing resistance.

    For car racing, friction is needed under the tires for that car to go zoom.  But friction also opposes the car with the drag of air molecules.

    Same principal for horse racing.  Friction is needed under the shoe of the horse, while it opposes the direction it's running via drag resistance.
