Why Is It Impossible For The Absolute Value Of A Number To Be Negative?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The absolute value of a number is the number without any sign, neither plus nor minus.  Therefore, it cannot be either positive nor negative.  That is the definition of the absolute value of a number.  For example, the absolute value of -2 is 2, and the absolute value of +2 is also 2.
