Would You Ask A Stranger To Take Your Picture On A Vacation If It Was Your Personal Camera And Not A Throw Away?

Would it make any difference if it was a barrowed/borrowed camera..

I have done this many times and never had a problem.  I have had people ask me to take their picture for them.   When I was in Europe, we were on a cruise so when we were in port, many of the fellow passengers would assist other people with taking each other pictures.  We all had our personal cameras, not throw away cameras.  You need to be aware of surroundings no matter where you are.  I have always heard that the Americans are not well liked in Europe - everyone was polite, helpful, never encountered a rude person.  Bottom line, we are all individuals, helping each other with economy and I firmly believe if you are respecful of others, they will be to you.

You might not want to do that in France, for as most of them hate Americans. You should just consider getting a throw away and not letting complete strangers get ahold of your personal and private pictures.
